Fun and very Educational	Twin City Church is developing a series of Bible Stories for youngsters that will have them not only learning about Characters from the Holy Bible, but learning to read as each word is written to the screen as it is spoken. This innovative technology will bring hours of wholesome entertainment, learning and interactive foundation to your child's communication skills. In the meantime, you may like to start by installing the files needed, and use them for the "Talking Bible". The installation is simple and Microsoft certified. Therefore it will work with most computers using Windows 95 and above, Internet Explorer 3.02 or later and a sound card. It will not work using the Netscape browser. This project is a large one and as the product develops and demand increases, it will be made available on a CD ROM for about $10-00. But you can install Peedy - the very talented, animated and talkative parrot and you and your children will be able to enjoy the stories as they become available on this website. Speaking Characters:	Microsoft Agent version 2.0 provides unprecedented technology to create innovative, new conversational interfaces for applications and Web pages. It provides powerful animation capability, interactivity, and versatility, with incredible ease of development. Microsoft Agent is a technology that provides a foundation for more natural ways for people to communicate with their computers. It is a set of software services that enable developers to incorporate interactive animated characters into their applications and Web pages. These characters can speak, via a text-to-speech engine or recorded audio, and even accept spoken voice commands. Microsoft Agent empowers developers to extend the user interface beyond the conventional mouse and keyboard interactions prevalent today. Enhancing applications and Web pages with a visible interactive personality will both broaden and humanize the interaction between users and their computers.
MICROSOFT's PEEDY	Microsoft® Agent is a software technology that enables an enriched form of user interaction that can make using and learning to use a computer, easier and more natural. With the Microsoft Agent set of software services, developers can easily enhance the user interface of their applications and Web pages with interactive personalities in the form of animated characters. These characters can move freely within the computer display, speak aloud (and by displaying text onscreen), and even listen for spoken voice commands. When used effectively with a conversational interface approach, Microsoft Agent can be a powerful extension and enhancement of the existing interactive modalities of the Microsoft Windows® interface.

Installation	Clicking on all the Square Buttons will allow you to down load the EXE files. Suggest you save them to your C:\Temp directory ready for installation.
Minimum Requirements:	You should verify that your system meets the minimal system requirements before downloading Microsoft Agent. Microsoft Agent was specifically developed to require a minimum of computer resources. Computers of typical specification, manufactured in the past several years, should comfortably accommodate the requirements of Microsoft Agent. Required: Microsoft Windows® 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT® 4.0 (x86), or Windows 2000 and Windows XP Internet Explorer version 3.02 or later A Pentium 100-megahertz (MHz) PC (or faster) At least 16 megabytes (MB) of RAM At least 1 MB free disk space for the core components An additional 2-4 MB free disk space typically for each character you install. An additional 32 KB free disk space for each language component (dll). Recommended: An additional 1.6 MB free disk space if you plan to use the Lernout & Hauspie® TruVoice Text-To-Speech Engine for speech output An additional 22 MB free disk space if you plan to use the Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine for speech input A Windows-compatible sound card A compatible set of speakers and microphone
Components:	Download and install the 4 core components of Microsoft Agent by clicking the links below. Download the Microsoft Agent core components (395 KB exe) Localized language components are libraries (DLL files) that add support for the dialogs, windows, tooltips, and balloon text of the core components in an additional language to the default English support. To add a language to the core components, select it from the list below and click the download link. Note, that this localization support alone will not make Microsoft Agent characters speak audibly in these languages via text-to-speech - to do so, a text-to-speech engine would also be required. You will need to install the American-English Text to Speech engine Download Speech Engine Microsoft Agent character files You can use the following character files with Microsoft Agent. Note that which characters appear may depend on the application or web page you are using. Download selected character (Peedy) SAPI 4.0 runtime support: Install the SAPI 4.0 runtime support below if you are using the Windows XP operating system and intend to use any of the speech components here with Microsoft Agent. Also, install this SAPI 4.0 runtime support if you intend to use the L&H TTS3000 engines with the Microsoft Agent Genie, Merlin, Peedy and Robby characters. These characters are compiled to use the L&H TruVoice engine as the default speech output engine and the SAPI 4.0a runtime is necessary to set these characters' TTSModeID property to use the TTS3000 engines. Other Microsoft Agent characters may also require this SAPI 4.0 runtime support to set their TTSModeID property. Download the Microsoft SAPI 4.0a runtime binaries (824 KB exe) Save each of the 4 components to a suitable directory..like C:\TEMP...and when you have downloaded them all...using Windows Explorer, locate and double-click on each , installing one component at a time. You then may need to reboot your PC afterwards. Then you will be able to test that all is working by clicking on here for the demo.
